About the company

NanoMeT Ltd was founded in 2007 as a startup company of Ufa State Aviation Technical University (Ufa, Russia)

The company established, for the first time in the world, the pilot-commercial production of semi-products (rods) from nanostructured titanium for the application in medicine and other industries

Products

We produce semi-products from nanostructured titanium and magnesium alloys, intended for the manufacture of products applied in medicine, aircraft engineering and other industries


The semi-products are in the form of long-length rods

length 0.5–3 m

diameter 3–8 mm

Production stages
1

Nanostructuring

In order to produce a nanostructured state in the bulk of the material and increase its mechanical properties, the initial rods are subjected to processing by severe plastic deformation

Straightening

The nanostructured rods are subjected to straightening to make them straight if required

Grinding

In order to reduce the surface roughness of the produced rods, if required, grinding is performed at the final stage using a machine
Specifications of the nanostructured titanium rods
The data were obtained as a result of the uniaxial tensile mechanical tests of cylindrical specimens (ISO 6892-1:2019)

Grinding (calibration)

Finishing grinding is performed using a centerless grinding machine having specifications that enable achieving an accuracy class of Н7–Н9.

- diameter of the treated workpieces: Ø 1–40 mm
- workpiece length: 0.5–4 m
- materials: titanium, steels, magnesium
- grinding options: in-feed and through-feed

Research
In cooperation with the Institute of Physics of Advanced Materials at Ufa University of Science and Technology (IPAM UUST), research is conducted to investigate the structure, mechanical, physical and chemical properties of various materials
Manufacture of unique equipment
Manufacture of unique facilities for the nanostructuring of metallic materials through the use of severe plastic deformation (high-pressure torsion, equal-channel angular pressing)
